People look for a 9Proxy alternative for one of two reasons. Either they like paying per IP but don't want to run the 9Proxy desktop app, or they want traffic-based proxies with more control over sessions and targeting. This guide compares six providers that cover both cases, based on each provider's published documentation, and names two more GB options at the end.
27Proxy sells activation codes (CDKs) for every provider in this guide, including 9Proxy, so the goal here is to match the plan to your work, not to steer you away from 9Proxy.
The short answer

What you are replacing: how 9Proxy works
9Proxy has two products, and they work very differently.
- 9Proxy IP plans need the 9Proxy desktop app for Windows, macOS or Linux. You pick an IP in the app and forward it to a local port; the IP is deducted when you forward it. 9Proxy documents that a residential IP stays online anywhere from several hours to about 24 hours.
- 9Proxy GB plans work from the dashboard without the app. You generate endpoints with a username and password or an IP whitelist, choose rotating or sticky sessions, and pay for the traffic you use.
If you are new to 9Proxy, our 9Proxy download and setup guide walks through both. If you are not sure which billing model fits, read what a residential proxy is and how per-GB and per-IP plans differ.
How to choose a 9Proxy alternative
- Pick the billing model. Per-IP plans suit work that needs a known number of addresses, such as browser profiles or account sessions. Per-GB plans suit work spread across many IPs, such as scraping or price monitoring.
- Check how you will connect. If you run proxies on a server or in a script, you need API access or username/password credentials rather than a desktop app.
- Check session length. Per-IP addresses are short-term residential IPs; if you need the same IP for a set time on a GB plan, look for sticky sessions.
- Check targeting. All six providers offer country targeting; some add state, city or ASN (network) targeting.
Per-IP alternatives to 9Proxy
711Proxy Residential IP
711Proxy is the closest match for 9Proxy IP users who want to drop the desktop app. You extract IPs from the dashboard as an API link or a proxy list, and authenticate with an IP whitelist or a username and password. Country, state and city filters are available. 711Proxy documents a maximum of 6 hours per extracted IP, and extracted addresses appear in a 24-hour history; reusing one after its window can count as another IP.
Bundles: 10 to 200 keys. See 711Proxy IP keys.
LokiProxy short-term residential IP
LokiProxy bills by extracted IP and lets you connect through its dashboard, an API or the LokiProxy client app, with username/password or IP-whitelist authentication. Country, state and city targeting are available. LokiProxy currently states that unused IP credits do not expire, which suits irregular projects.
Bundles: 10 to 500 keys. See LokiProxy IP keys.
NovProxy short-term residential IP
NovProxy's per-IP product is built for addresses you change often. You extract IPs with a username and password or through the API, filter by country and city, and connect over HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5.
Bundles: 10 to 200 keys. See NovProxy IP keys, or follow the NovProxy setup guide to redeem a key and connect.
CliProxy short-term residential IP
CliProxy works much like NovProxy: per-IP billing, country and city targeting, API or credential extraction, and HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5. Bundles go up to 500 keys, which helps if you provision IPs in batches. After redeeming, confirm how many IPs the balance in CliProxy shows.
Bundles: 10 to 500 keys. See CliProxy IP keys and the CliProxy setup guide.
Per-GB alternatives to 9Proxy
Thordata residential traffic
Thordata suits users who want repeatable proxy strings. Location and session settings go into the endpoint or username, with country, state, city and ASN targeting. Sessions rotate per request or stay sticky for 1 to 90 minutes, and you can authenticate with credentials or an IP whitelist.
Packages: 2 GB to 10 GB. See Thordata residential traffic and the Thordata setup review.
DataImpulse through Supproxy
Supproxy is a DataImpulse reseller dashboard. You get DataImpulse gateway credentials, country targeting, session controls, proxy-list generation and usage tracking, over HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5. Package sizes run from 1 GB to 100 GB, so it scales from a quick test to a large job.
Packages: 1 GB to 100 GB. See DataImpulse via Supproxy and the DataImpulse setup guide.
Other GB options in the store include NovProxy, which offers sticky sessions of up to 120 minutes and traffic the provider says does not expire, and LokiProxy with region and ASN targeting. Both are listed under residential GB plans; the per-IP providers above are under residential IP plans.
Staying with 9Proxy
If the desktop app is the only problem, you may not need another provider. 9Proxy GB plans run from the dashboard with generated endpoints, credentials or a whitelist, and rotating or sticky sessions. Compare 9Proxy GB with 9Proxy IP, or create an account at 9proxy.com (a referral link with 27Proxy's code).
FAQ
Is there a 9Proxy alternative that does not need a desktop app?
Yes. 711Proxy, NovProxy and CliProxy per-IP plans work through a dashboard, an API or username/password credentials. LokiProxy offers a client app but also works without it. All the GB plans in this guide work without an app, including 9Proxy's own GB plan.
Which alternative bills per IP like 9Proxy?
711Proxy, LokiProxy, NovProxy and CliProxy all sell per-IP residential plans. The others in this guide bill per GB of traffic.
Do unused credits expire?
It depends on the provider. LokiProxy states that unused short-term IP credits do not expire, and NovProxy and CliProxy say the same for their GB traffic. Check the provider's current terms before buying a large bundle.
How do I get an activation code from 27Proxy?
Choose the product and bundle, pay with your wallet balance or a payment method shown at checkout, and the code appears on your Orders page once payment is confirmed. You then redeem it in the provider's own dashboard.
